The Green Survey
Sustainable Heating / Green Initiatives Project.
Greener for you in 2022?
Inspired by COP26, but also by enquiries from residents about sustainable methods of heating, Kirk and Little Smeaton Parish Councils have joined together in a project to understand what is required and what assistance/advice can be given.
With fuel prices rising at an alarming rate many people are saying that they want to ‘go greener’ but also to save money.
A survey has been devised to help to find out if there is an appetite for a ‘Greener Smeatons’ project. If there is sufficient interest, the parish councils plan to arrange a Village Meeting with invited speakers who can advise on different forms of energy-efficient heating available.
Please complete the survey.
The survey can be completed by using this link https://forms.gle/rukdTXC5GyQTt3j19
The link is also available on the 2 Village Whats Apps, and the 2 Parish Council websites and Facebook pages.
Though obviously you only need to complete it once per household please !
Anyone not having access to any of the above, may obtain a paper copy of the survey from the Post Office.
Quarry planning application - statement from Kirk & Little Smeaton parish councils.
The Quarry application was heard on 28th September at County Hall in Northallerton.
We fielded 7 speakers to object and all spoke really well.
Regrettably the application was approved albeit by a very narrow majority...
6 votes to 5.
Thank you everyone for support and for monies raised for professional advice.
Sorry not to have better news.
Gillian and Tricia.
